Do Sugar Ants Bite?

Sugar ants can be found all over the world, sugar ants are also known as banded ants and anoher ant species such as pharaoh ants are also called as sugar ants.  Sugar ants has black heads with relatively large mandible, orange torax and black bodies or abdomen.

The answer is yes.  Sugar ants do bite although the bite effect is not as severe as fire ants.  Sugar ants do bite when they have been provoked.  The biting is to protect themselves, beside biting, they do spray acid from their black abdomen to keep predators away.
